The story of Tres Belle – a ‘very beautiful’ legacy

My name is Katherine Beaulieu, and I’m the co-founder of Tres Belle, based in Brisbane, Australia – and I wanted to share with you the very personal story and message behind our brand.

I started Tres Belle with my beautiful ‘sister’, the late Esta Thiris, who sadly passed away the year we began our business four years ago.

Esta was my aunt, 10 years older than me, but we shared a life as best friends, like ‘sisters’, with mutual passions for style, design, travel, and beautiful things, while supporting each other through our careers. Incredibly accomplished in her career, Esta was a principal at various secondary schools, as well as the first female vice president of the Greek community in Brisbane.

I led a career in the bridal and events industries – and in 2021, we decided to turn our mutual passions and complementary skills into our dream ‘side hustle’ business.

This was how ‘Tres Belle’ was born.

Our name embodies our mission to bring carefully curated “very beautiful” accessories and jewellery pieces from international designers we adored, and knew would be loved by Australian women.

It’s about bringing colour, joy, and style to celebrate our everyday.

Tres Belle is a tribute to our beautiful ‘sisterly bonds’

But devastatingly, in that same year of launching our business, Esta was diagnosed with an unexpected, aggressive form of brain cancer, passing just a short nine months later.

Tres Belle is her legacy, and always will be.

In less than four years, I'm so proud of how much our community has grown, and I know Esta would be too.

We've become one of Australia's leading online boutiques for international artisan jewellery and accessory designs from around the world.

We're proud to source timeless handbags, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, cuffs and rings from leading and hard-to-find designers who share our mutual passion for the craft and love of colour, joy and style.
